    This supports the reading °pāla°, but in a letter of 26 April 1995, Tōru Tomabechi wrote to J. Silk: "According to my research on the MS. of the Caryāmelāpaka, the 'correct' title of the BhP proved to be 'Bhadrapāli-,' but not '-pāla-."

    Indeed, in the available edition of the Caryāmelāpaka (The Caryāmelāpakapradīpa – SARIT Transcript, Sanskrit text edited by Christian K. Wedemeyer, TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) markup by Richard Mahoney. London: SARIT (Search and Retrieval of Indic Texts), 2009,) this is the form that is found.
